Direct Inward Dialing(DID)
A phone number assigned to your PBX that can receive direct inbound calls or serve as an outbound caller ID.
What it means in practice
DIDs are the phone numbers your carrier has provisioned for your use. Each DID is an E.164 number tied to your SIP trunk. DIDs serve three roles: inbound landing (the number customers call), outbound CID (the number you display), and callback destinations. Managing DID inventory, provisioning, assigning, monitoring spam-label status, is a full-time job for any outbound operation over 50 agents.
In VICIPanel
VICIPanel's DID inventory dashboard shows every DID with owning campaign, usage volume, call origination geography, spam-flag status, and days-in-rotation. Add a geo label to every DID automatically, state, area code, rate center, carrier.
