Telephony
SIP Trunk
A virtual telephony connection between your VICIdial system and a carrier, using Session Initiation Protocol.
What it means in practice
SIP trunks are how calls leave your dialer and enter the public telephone network. Your carrier provisions trunk capacity (concurrent call channels) and assigns you DIDs. VICIdial's carrier management screens configure trunk registration, routing, failover, and channel limits.
In VICIPanel
VICIPanel's carrier dashboard shows live channel utilization per trunk, error rates, STIR/SHAKEN attestation distribution, and ASR (answer-seizure ratio). One glance tells you whether a carrier is degrading before your contact rate reflects it.
